A lot has happened since the last post, but I am not motivated enough to rehash all of the memories and experiences that I had during that time.<br />
<br />
To sum things up, I finished community college, graduating cum laude with three associates degrees. I'll be transferring to a university in the fall so that I may complete my undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering. After that, I hope to have a job and possibly pursue Graduate school.<br />
<br />
I'll work on posting more to this blog, as I have found a new passion for writing this past semester. (Maybe taking three engineering courses will do that to you.) Although...I don't think that I'll be writing some fantastic blog posts exploring the deepest realm of human thought anytime soon, so don't get your hopes up.<br />
<br />
Lately I have been enjoying my summer, working part time at my usual job, and part time as an intern for NASA. (Pretty cool, I know ;]) I have been catching up on all the sleep I sacrificed for engineering this past year, and loving every single minute of it. I even finally had the motivation to do a nice deep cleaning of my room since it has been put on the back burner for studying/homework. Besides the lounging around (and not feeling guilty), I have finally picked up the habit of watching TV again. This summer, the best $25 I have spent was on the TV series, <i>The Cosmos</i>, which features Neil deGrasse Tyson and our amazing universe. There are a ton of episodes, and I usually can only watch one at a time so that I can digest the content thoroughly. I don't think I'd ever be a good binge-TV-er, so I suppose it's a good thing that I do not have a Netflix account. Other than that, I sprinkle some occasional episodes of <i>Catfish</i> and <i>Jimmy Kimmel Live</i> in my weekly routine, and ta-da....I am in vegetable mode. Altogether, I am extremely happy with how this summer has been. No stress = Happy Happy Marcea.<br />
<br />
I have many things to look forward to before I begin my semester, and I will most likely be posting about them on this blog as much as I can. Next week is the Fourth of July, so I am sure I will share some experiences from our traditional rodeo held at the fairgrounds. Nothing screams " 'merica!" like cowboys, boots, coors light, and explosives (aka Fireworks). If I do not get a post in before then, I hope that everyone has a happy and safe day.<br />
<br />
I think this is fair enough for a getting-back-into-the-things-post. Have a great weekend!<br />
<br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;">I've made it through another 23 units at school, and I'm looking forward to starting again August 19th. This is my final year at community college and I'm hoping it goes well! I'll be applying for transfer this Fall, so keep your fingers crossed I get accepted! I've been doing well, so I hope the wonderful admission officers see that! </span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Well it seems like 2013 has already gone way too fast. We're about 2/3 of the way through. I've been busy with you guessed it- school and work! But with all the hard work and effort, I know it'll pay off someday. Maybe I'll recap on some highlights through the last few months. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">January. Well! I kicked off the wonderful new year with friends on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena for the 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade. We found a place to sleep on the sidewalk and we camped out in the 38-40 degree weather and watched the parade the next morning. Having been in the parade, it was special for me! It was however, nice to actually celebrate the countdown and then cheer my friends on at PCC Honor band the next day. Partying on Colorado Blvd. for New Years is definitely something I'd do again! Maybe next year. ;]</span><br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Also, my friend and I hosted our first Fight Back event at the local Relay for Life. We have participated in the event for many many years, but it was our first year serving on the committee and hosting an important aspect in the event. Although the wind was a little crazy, it went very well. We didn't get too much foot traffic through our tent, but of the few people we talked to, I'm so happy and relieved that they walked away more educated on how to prevent and fight back against cancer. It's inspiring to see everyone out at the event to come together to celebrate, remember and fight back! If you have never been to a relay for life event, I definitely recommend you look up one near you! They're all across the country! </span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">May. The last month of my spring semester! Boy was it long. I nearly went crazy. Glad I passed all of my classes. Not only that, I received some honors and awards from my participation in some school clubs. I became a permanent member in the California Community College Honor's Society "Alpha Gamma Sigma" and also received a recognition award on behalf of the science club. Altogether, I'm happy with joining these clubs, and I am so looking forward to both of them in the next semester! Besides, I'm lucky enough to be an officer in both clubs! </span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">June. Started my first session of summer school. I just took an English 101 class and a Communications 101 class. They were both pretty easy, but since it was over 8 weeks instead of 16, it was fast paced! I definitely had some all nighters preparing essays and speeches. Also, I took a pretty rad hike at The Devil's Punchbowl with the science club! It was so awesome, and I hope we can do it again someday soon.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;">July. The most recent! I kicked off the month with a trip down to Long Beach to visit a good friend and to visit the CSU Long Beach campus. It was so great to catch up and also visit the beautiful university! I may apply there in the Fall. Also, I started a new diet( gluten free! I hope it has a positive impact on my well-being, and maybe even clears up my skin. I'm still learning how to eat gluten free, but with the help of friends and Trader Joes and Pinterest, I've made it through two weeks! </span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Now we're all caught up. In review, I feel like my summer was definitely not the most exciting. All I did was school and work with a few cold visits to the beach in between. I have two weeks left, and part of it will be spent with four holes in my mouth. This week I'll have my impacted wisdom teeth removed. (Yay! Right?) Other than that, I hope to relax and prepare for what looks like a busy semester. Heck, I might give the beach another chance to prove me wrong and actually be warm, or maybe even tour UC Irvine or UC Santa Barbara. We shall see! Hope everyone has a great week! </span></div>

<br />
It has been quite a while since I posted last. School and work kept me entirely occupied.<br />
<br />
It was a rather difficult semester, and I am so thrilled that it is FINALLY over. I am NOT looking forward to receiving my grades. I kind of lost focus through the semester, but I hope it doesn't show too much. Next semester I am continuing with Chemistry and taking Chem 120. I will start my Physics classes (finally!) and I will be taking Phys 110. I'll jump into Linear Algebra with Math 220, and then I will have my first online class- Econ 102. It should be a "fun" semester, but I am in absolutely no hurry for this break to be over. Enough about school though....<br />
<br />
I feel like a lot has happened since my last post, but maybe I will just include some highlights.<br />
<br />
I spent about the last two weeks of October sick. Some how I managed to catch the bug that was going around. This unfortunately made me miss both the Tyler Lundin Blood Drive and the social dance I was going to participate in. At least I felt much better by the time Halloween rolled around, because I had a blast! I don't get trick-or-treaters at my house because I live on a private dirt road so this time around, I joined a friend in her housing development. All of the kids with their costumes were absolutely adorable! I loved it! Handing out candy to all the adorable princesses, and ninjas, and supermen was way more fun than trick-or-treating as a child. I cannot wait to do it again.<br />
<br />
It feels like we zoomed through November. Some highlights...hmmm....<br />
<br />
I went snowboarding for the first time! Now THAT was an experience! I took a Sunday off work, and joined some coworkers up at Mt. High for a day of snowboarding. Thankfully I was able to borrow not only a board, but bindings and boots from a friend so I did not have to pay for a rental. I only did 4 runs, but I felt like I accomplished quite a bit! Thankfully my friend stuck by me the whole time and taught me how to snowboard. I ate a ton of crap, but by the end I was kind of getting the hang of it. As expected, I was pretttyyy sore the next few days. Especially my arms! It was a toooon of fun, and I cannot wait to do it again! Here is a cheesy picture collage of the few photos I took that day.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanksgiving was great. Just spent the day with family, and I had my friend join us this year. It was a beautiful day, and we did have a lot to be thankful for! We don't do the whole "Black Friday" thing, so Friday was well spent. It also happened to be my birthday. Well...me and my twin's birthday. He had to work all day, but we were able to go out to dinner as a family. If you haven't seen my twin (or me) here is a photo. I brought him a shake on our birthday :] </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since I am posting all sorts of photos, I will add some more. I had my third semester (and last) in Ceramics at AVC. I feel like I have really come a long way. It definitely was not my most productive semester, but I am pleased with my new techniques and accomplishments. All of these pieces were made on the wheel (with the exception of the mask). Mr. Sim enjoyed all but one, so I am hoping that I get an A! When I get a chance, I will photograph all of these individually so you can get a closer look. Those pictures will be added to my ceramics photo album on Facebook. I will definitely miss this class in the future! Maybe some day I can afford a pottery wheel...and then a kiln! Someday! (When I'm rich! ;] )</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They may look small, but they're not! ;]</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
November ended well aaaaand now it is December. The weather has been strange, but I think it is finally beginning to cool down. Let's hope! I am very much looking forward to Winter Break. I will still be working, but that is okay! I don't have any big plans, but it should be fun. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On a completely unrelated note, I saw a hilariously true video on YouTube about Instagram. Hopefully you're aware of what Instagram is, because I won't be explaining it. I have to admit, I do have an account, and I can be guilty of some of these cliches they're calling out in the video. It's all pretty fun :] The parody is sung to Nickelback's "Photograph" tune. Hope you enjoy! <a href="http://youtu.be/Nn-dD-QKYN4" target="_blank">Instagram Parody</a> </div>

It's October, i'm halfway through the school semester, and the weather is FINALLY starting to feel like Fall! I apologize for not blogging as frequently as I said I would. I have been busy with school and all the homework and studying that accompanies it.<br />
<br />
Until today, I hadn't realized how fast this semester has already gone. It's been a long, treacherous journey (okay, not really), but I think it has been a good one thus far. In the past few weeks I have learned 1) to hate math (specifically vector calculus), 2)That I stink at computer programming, 3)That I love Chemistry more than I did in high school, and 4)Anthropology is interesting, but I never want to take another class like that again. School has kept me so busy lately, and right now I should probably be studying or something. But I have a lot to say, and I often think of things to include in my next blog post, and then when I sit down to type it all out, I forget over half of it. Maybe I should be jotting it down on a notepad as I go along in my day. Hah. ;]<br />
<br />
Another thing I have been involved with at school is a new organization called Alpha Iota. It's a chapter of the organization Alpha Gamma Sigma, which has multiple chapters through California. It is an honors group at AVC that has members who meet a certain GPA requirement. I joined it this semester, and became an active member. Every Friday, we host meetings, and I am so glad I have joined! They do a lot of community service, and other events in the community, and I am so glad to be back doing volunteering and fundraising for the community. Back in middle school, our CJSF (California Junior Scholarship Foundation) was very active in the community, but when I joined CSF(California Scholarship Foundation) in high school, there was not one event that we came together to do. In Alpha Iota, there is so much that they do as a club, and I am really looking forward to participating in it as much as I can. As of right now, it's a little difficult to make it to the events between my work and school hours, but I will figure out how to make it work. If anyone is interested, check out the website here. www.alphaiota.wordpress.com<br />
<br />
Which leads me to my next exciting and unimportant update about me! I got the new iPhone 5! I paid quite a chunk of money for that baby, but it is so worth it. September was my month for an upgrade (after waiting for two years), and I took advantage of the release of this new iPhone. What a difference when compared to my old flip phone! I am not glued to my phone, but I am definitely taking advantage of the nice camera, and of course, Instagram! Too many people are criticizing the iPhone, but hey, I think it's great! In the battle between iPhone and Android, it all boils down to preference. You wouldn't believe the number of people who have tried to convince me I wasted my money, and should have gotten the Android phone. Silly people, it's JUST A PHONE.<br />
<br />
September was kind of a "slump" month for me. My friend even joked that September is always a lame month! Although there were some highlights, when I look back on the month overall, it really wasn't the best. I started it out with a wound to my finger, and ended it tired, and under too much stress from school. And of course lots of stress, homework, and drama in between. That is being rather pessimistic, but I am just glad to say it is over now! Onto to October, and soon...November! My favorite month! (I wonder why ;])<br />
<br />
October has been pretty great! Can't believe we are already going into the second week though! Last Friday, I had yet another one of the best nights of my life. I went to my second Jason Mraz concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Not only was that amazing musician there, but Christina Perri opened for him as well! Those two are both such talented, and amazing musicians. To say I had a great time is an understatement! The tour was promoting his new album "Love is a Four Letter Word", but he also played a lot of older songs as well. I took my mother, and altogether, we had a great night. I promise myself that I will go to every single one of his concerts as long as it's close enough! I love that man! ♥ Jason Mraz ♥<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is a view of the stage from where we were sitting! I thought we had some pretty great seats! :] Totally worth the whole paycheck I spent on those tickets! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Another thing I am particularly looking forward to this month is the next social dance at the studio I used to take ballroom dance lessons from. Every month, they host a social dance on a Sunday evening where anyone can come and dance to all different types of ballroom; salsa, tango, cha cha, waltz, swing, and even more. The next event is on October 28th, so if anyone is interested, hit me up, and I will give you more details :] <br />
<br />
I intended for this post to be longer, but I will end it soon because I am way too tired. On a last note, I realized something today....girls are so much prettier without make up! Don't get me wrong, accenting your beauty is fine, but drawing all over your eyes, lips and brows just doesn't compare to the natural look of your face. I'm doing an October Photo Challenge on Instagram (lame, I know), and today the subject was "No Makeup". I will not lie, I was a bit hesitant actually posting a picture of me without makeup on the internet for the world to see! However, I think it went good! After posting it, I went through and checked out what other girls posted, and I actually felt like those pictures were prettier than the fake ones you see all over Facebook, Twitter, etc. I think from now on, I'm going to lay off from all the foundation, eyeliner, mascara and such, and take advantage of my nice skin, and natural beauty! You're all beautiful! <!--3--><br />

<br />
It's Saturday night, and I am supposed to be doing homework, but as usual, I've preoccupied my time with other things. I am so mentally exhausted from school this week, I'm surprised I made it all the way through to Friday without completely shutting down my brain. Here is to another busy week ahead!<br />
<br />
Hmmm....where should we start?<br />
Updates!<br />
<br />
My finger has healed extremely fast...and it looks fantastic! While repairing the damage, we left the skin attached rather than pulling it off. Thankfully, this allowed more protection for the wound to heal, and a nice shape for the new skin to grow back into! It's looking so good, and it's repairing at a very quick pace. I still, however, cannot feel anything since all the nerves are cut in that tip. At least I can proudly say I am typing with it! Here is a recent photo:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-m4tgQspPArk/UFVmYeYFWKI/AAAAAAAAAUY/IMXoF_ufCus/s1600/securedownload+(9).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-m4tgQspPArk/UFVmYeYFWKI/AAAAAAAAAUY/IMXoF_ufCus/s320/securedownload+(9).jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It is all pink, and hopefully healthy! :] Sooo glad to have my finger back!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On the topic of fingers, I have a new nail manicure to show off! It's called my "Galaxy" nails. I didn't come up with the design myself- I actually found a tutorial on YouTube. It'll take some more practice before I get the hang of it, but here it is! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ERfT9YzSMjM/UFVn4qAZDKI/AAAAAAAAAUg/C8FAkLZEDxQ/s1600/securedownload+(8).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ERfT9YzSMjM/UFVn4qAZDKI/AAAAAAAAAUg/C8FAkLZEDxQ/s320/securedownload+(8).jpg" width="293" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also water-marbled my mom's nails today for the first time. That was quite an experience! haha. It was a trial run for her charity function next Friday. By then, we should have it down, and super cute! :]</div>

Another update, but not so cheery. Last Saturday, on September 8th, Grandpa Hendrix passed away. He was the grandfather to one of my very best friends. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet him when I visited Maryland this past summer. Not only did he open his home to me, but his love as well. Since I grew up without grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Hendrix were some of the closest things I have had when it comes to Grandparents. They were so loving, and I had a wonderful time for the entire two weeks I was there. Grandpa Hendrix was a wonderful man who cared so very much for his wife, his family, and his community. He was so loving, and caring....and even quite the joker! His funeral services were in Maryland, and although I wish I could have gone, it was seemingly impossible between work and school. May he rest in peace. ♥ He is an angel in Heaven looking over us all. Prayers to all of his family and friends. <a href="http://www.zellmanfuneralhome.com/willard-r.-hendrix.htm" target="_blank">Here</a> is a nice obituary in honor of him. Love you, Grandpa Hendrix!<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On another note, there is a lot of interesting things going on with politics in our country. As most of you know (hopefully all of you know) there is am upcoming Presidential election in November. Obviously, it will be between the Democratic incumbent, Barack Obama, and the Republican candidate, Mitt Romney. I'm not here to tell you who you should vote for, or which candidate is going to ruin your life should you cast a vote for him, but I'm here to tell you why I think it's important to know how your vote counts, and why you should participate! A lot of responsibility has been given to us as citizens of the United States to have a voice in choosing our leaders. If everybody thought to themselves, "oh, my vote doesn't count, so why should I vote?", then we'd have a lot of people not voting, and thus skewing an accurate result of the people's choices. If you're unsure about the candidates, then do some research. Of course, no one can force you to vote, and if you're completely against both of them, that is okay too. But I find too many people are basing their judgements off Facebook posts, and biased news channels before they do any research of their own. Check into the campaigns, and debates of these two politicians. Do some research of the actual political parties, and even check their voting records! There is a lot you can do. Listening to the news channels, reading the articles off Yahoo, and even seeing those horrible mud-slinging posts on Facebook are just clouding your opinion with false, and biased information. Please do your part as a United States citizen, and make informed decsions! If you're curious how the majority of the USA is going to vote in November, check out <a href="http://www.270towin.com/" target="_blank">this website</a> to play around with the numbers. It's quite interesting. Happy voting! Go America! P.S.- Stop with the mud-slinging, and trash-talking of the candidates. It's so pointless and lame! </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zkNV3mWazAM/UFVwgb9qxNI/AAAAAAAAAVA/_iZ4dMT2_tg/s1600/395265_3662699487146_276084500_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zkNV3mWazAM/UFVwgb9qxNI/AAAAAAAAAVA/_iZ4dMT2_tg/s320/395265_3662699487146_276084500_n.jpg" width="320" /></a>I'm on the hunt for a potter's wheel if you know of anyone who is selling one. They're pretty expensive, so I can't afford a new one. I'm sure if I ended up actually getting one- i'd be so preoccupied using it, that I would get absolutely nothing done around the house. There is nothing that can compare to the relaxing feeling of clay underneath your hands as it turns into a beautiful pot. I'm still learning so much, but I feel like I have come such a long way from last year when I first started. Here is a a picture of some of my upcoming pots. They have been fired once (Bisque Firing), and I will glaze them, and fire them once more before they're complete. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I am going to wrap this post up before my show, Saturday Night Live begins. I used to watch it religiously, and kind of fell through by the end of last season. By chance I found out that the season premiere is tonight with Seth MacFarlane, and Frank Ocean as host and musical guest. I'm not sure how I will be able to stay up and watch it all the way, but that is what recording DVR's are for! Anyways, take care, and have a great week!!</div>

We will Never Forget. For me, it was an eerie day in my childhood that will never be forgotten. I was too young at the time to know what the Twin Towers, The World Trade Center, and the Pentagon were. I did however know what had happened, and the terrible loss we suffered that day. To all the families and friends that lost a loved one on 9/11, in the days following, and to those who are still losing loved ones as a result of this, God Bless you. This date will live in infamy. ♥<div>

Apparently this is proof to what a poor social life I have because I've been stuck at home by myself every night! (And have no plans for tomorrow either!) This of course would not be so bad if my family were home for the weekend, but they're all out of town doing their own fun things! Boohoo. The only positive thing about this, is that I have plenty of time to do homework, including the wretched Anthropology Test I had to take online this weekend. Oh, and I suppose it allows time for my finger to heal. I cut it pretty bad at work on Saturday....I would post a picture, but I'm sure you wouldn't be too pleased to see it if you were squeamish. In short, I sliced my index finger on the deli slicer and it went rather deep. Instead of getting stitches, I just wrapped the heck out of it. Bad choice, because now I will have a HUGE chunk out of my finger once it "heals". It's hard to explain. I'll post a picture at the end of this post so you have the option to scroll all the way down and see it if you choose to. I just can't stop looking at it...it's horrific, but so interesting as well. Oh, and it's been seriously throbbing since I cut it. :[ A huge thanks to my friend who has helped clean it up, and keep it in the best shape possible. Haha, I can't wait until my parents come home for the weekend and find out what damage I have done to my important digit. Oh well.<br />
<br />
Speaking of blood and such, I did a very bloody thing last Thursday. I donated blood to the American Red Cross for the first time! I have always wanted to donate blood, and once I heard about the Church across the street hosting a blood drive, I decided it was the perfect opportunity. I went after work with two coworkers, and I ended up being the only one able to donate! One friend was underweight, and the other was low on iron in her blood. I almost was deemed as unable to give blood because when they were doing my preliminary interview, my pulse was too high. It turned out I was just nervous, so they allowed me a moment to relax and try to lower the pulse. After attempting to meditate (HAH), I was able to bring it down. All was well, and everything went great. I pumped my blood into that bag, and even had her show me it afterwards! Surprisingly, I didn't get dizzy, or anything. I honestly cannot wait to do it again in October.<br />
<br />
So besides blood, I have been busy with school. I think I have already finished the first two weeks of the semester. Man. Have they been a difficult two weeks back!! I feel as if I took a dive into the deep end. Calculus, Anthropology, and even C Programming have been so incredibly fast-paced and difficult. I was considering dropping C Programming because I feared not being able to keep up, but after about a 4 hour-long study session with myself on Friday night (that's cool, right?), I was able to produce my first program in C language on the computer. I think it'll be a tough class, but at least I know I can produce something.<br />
<br />
September already! Before you know it, it will be October, and then November (my birthday!) and then it'll be January 2013 before you know it. Goodness.<br />
<br />
It seems as if I have run out of things to talk about. That's okay, because it is already getting late. Take care, and have a nice week everyone! I'll add some space to the end of this post, and share the picture of my finger. ;]<br />

<br />
In my last post, I mentioned some of the highlights of my summer thus far. Besides the Maryland trip, I have been visiting a lot of friends who are back in town for summer and such. Just recently I even went to a Line Dancing Club in Thousand Oaks with some coworkers. Even though this <a href="http://youtu.be/AupZaN1ZP-c" target="_blank">"tush push" video</a> taught me some moves, I was definitely not prepared for all the dances I saw that night! I had a blast, and I will definitely have to practice more for next time. :]<br />
<br />
In my spare time (which I have had a lot of) I have been starting a new hobby...nail art! I was inspired by my good friend, Holly, when she showed me how to water marble the nail polish. Since then, I have been painting my nails in all sorts of different ways! It has been real fun trying new colors and new designs out. The possibilities are endless. Growing up, I never painted my nails because I was a total tom-boy, but now I can't stand to look at my hands without nail polish on them! A very helpful lady on YouTube by the name of Collette has posted some amazing video tutorials on water marbling and other forms of nail art. You can find her channel if you click <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/SimpleLittlePleasues" target="_blank">here</a>. I'll post some pictures below of some of my recent creations!<br />

Besides inhaling probably way too much Nail Polish Remover fumes, I have thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with my nail art! Sometime soon I plan to try "newspaper nails" where you transfer the ink from a newspaper onto your nail. I heard it even works with sheet music, and since I have tons of that laying around, I'll probably do that design instead. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am still in denial about school resuming this month. We start classes on the 20th, and I know that once school hits, there will be no free time whatsoever. It looks like when I am not in class, I will be at work. And when I am supposed to be sleeping, I will be doing homework. Sounds like the life to me! Just focusing on me, me and me. I cannot wait to be done with college. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I guess I shouldn't say I will be solely be focusing on me. I will make a stronger effort to spend my free time with friends and family. Today I had the opportunity to get together with some friends from high school. My good friend, Joe, made an excellent point that we should be more grateful for each other, and try to spend what little time we may have together. Just recently, two boys who graduated from our high school back in 2010 and 2011 were both involved in different traffic accidents which cost them their lives. Rest in Peace to Kyle and Mark. They were both so young, and to have them gone this soon is extremely sad. Death is always going to be a part of life, but we need to cherish all the time we can on Earth. Hopefully you'll choose to spend that extra minute or two telling someone you love them, or are grateful to have them in your life! </div>

Not sure who reads this thing anyways! I really need to get in the habit of composing more blog posts.<br />
<br />
What has happened since the last post?<br />
hmmm.<br />
<br />
Well I finished my second semester at AVC. My course schedule was a little bit different that I had originally intended to take, so I will go into a brief recap of what I thought about each class.<br />
<br />
<b>Art 104- History of Modern Art</b><br />
I took this course after taking Art 102, which was History of Art: Renaissance to Modern. Basically it was a continuation class. I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it was a lot more difficult than I had anticipated. I had the same professor, Rae Agahari, and she is fantastic. You really learn a lot from her! I have a new found respect for modern art, and contemporary art as well. This makes my trips to LACMA a lot more meaningful!<br />
<br />
<b>Math 160- Calculus II</b><br />
This class kicked my butt! All sorts of forms of integration and it's application. Series, polar graphs....yuck. Good teacher, but harsh grading. I am so glad I passed with a C. I will be moving onto Calculus III this upcoming semester, and I am looking forward to having the same professor I had for Calculus I this time around! He was an excellent teacher, and as a bonus, he likes me! :]<br />
<br />
<b>Political Science 101 Honors- Intro to American Government</b><br />
My first honors class within the Honors Program at AVC. John Vento is a fantastic teacher...but this was one of the hardest classes I have had to take in a while. I took AP Government in high school, and did well, but it definitely did not prepare me for anything in this class! We did a lot of reading, analyzing, and most importantly....writing. I find writing to be extremely subjective, and I have had many teachers and professors in the past who have either loved my writing, or hated it. This professor definitely did not like my writing. But after working extremely hard to improve it, I managed to get a 75% on the first essay exam, and 90% on the last. With steady progression, it was extremely rewarding to earn an A on an exam! I ended up with a B overall in the class, which is okay, but I will take it.<br />
<br />
<b>Psychology 211- Psychology of Chicanos</b><br />
Wow. I had to take this class to fulfill a diversity requirement. Definitely did NOT like this class. I had to bite my lip the entire semester, and thank God I got an A. What seemed to be an interesting area of study turned out to be a Chicano Pride class that felt more like a political rally rather than an environment to learn. I am so glad that I am done with that nonsense. There is nothing worse than having someone trying to shove political ideals down your throat!<br />
<br />
<b>Art 131- Advanced Ceramics</b><br />
Since I crashed my Chemistry 110 class and couldn't get a seat, I ended up taking Ceramics again- which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was so nice this time around to actually know what I was doing on the potter's wheel. I didn't make as many pots as I would have liked, but I did make enough (and enough "good" ones) to receive an A- which is not an easy thing to pull out of Rich Sim. If you click<a href="https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2441102027973.2106287.1264481634&type=3&l=de1a41e958" target="_blank"> here</a>, you will find a link to the photos on my Facebook Album of all of my ceramic pottery.<br />
<br />
This upcoming semester, I changed my major from Mathematics to Engineering. There are a few additional classes I will have to take, but I will definitely be at AVC for another four semesters before I transfer. Here are the classes I will be taking this upcoming semester:<br />
<br />
Chemistry 110- General Chemistry<br />
Math 250- Calculus III<br />
Anthropology 101 Honors- Intro to Anthropology<br />
Computer Information Science 161- Intro to C Programming<br />
Art 132- Ceramics Handbuilding<br />
<br />
We'll see how this semester goes! I will be busy with another full 19 unit load at school, and at the least, 20 hours at work! :]<br />
<br />
Besides school, I have done some exciting things over the summertime. The first two weeks of June, I flew to Maryland with my good friend, Holly, and her family. They make an annual trip to visit every year because all of her family lives on the East Coast. We stayed with her grandparents in a cute town named Havre de Grace. If I remember correctly, that town has been around since 1785, and it was even considered in the selection of nation's capitol. Thank goodness it wasn't chosen, because it would definitely not be as cute and cozy as it is today! The town is so small, and I loved the close bonds everyone had with each other. :]<br />
<br />
We also visited Annapolis, which is where her sister attends school at the United States Naval Academy. I had the wonderful opportunity to tour the campus, and visit downtown Annapolis as well. We also made a trip to University of Maryland in College Park. For a weekend, we travelled to Virginia, visited her family in Luray, and also visited Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Another two days were spent in Fairfax Station, VA with the Hardy family, and we even made a trip into Washington DC and visited the "Newseum". I believe we were in West Virginia for a portion of the trip having dinner with some cousins, and even made a trip to Delaware! We were busy, and I had such a wonderful time. The family, the food (especially the Maryland Crab!), and the memories were fantastic. It was so nice to get away from the AV and from school and work to relax and have a change of scenery. I have tons of photos posted in a Facebook Album which you can find if you click <a href="https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.3374526643005.2124630.1264481634&type=3&l=9f84261af2" target="_blank">here</a>. I feel like this post is getting rather long. I will try to keep up with posting more about my life more frequently. Other than this large highlight in my summer, I have just been working a lot of hours, going to the beach every week, and hanging out with friends who are in town for the summer. I will be starting school in two weeks, so all this fun will have to come to an end. </div>

Hope everyone had a wonderful Monday, and has a fantastic week! </div>

Of course I have been thinking of everything to include on my blog all week, but when I get behind my laptop to write it down, I of course forget it all! :P<br /><div><br /></div><div>Lately I have been listening to the band Keane and their album "Hopes & Fears". I love the voice of their lead singer, Tom Chaplain. If you get a chance, it is definitely worth it to check out their music. :] <a href="http://www.keanemusic.com/">This is the main website</a>. Enjoy! </div><div><br /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 225px; height: 225px;" src="https://encrypted-tbn2.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSBcjsfLLoeq15CTsNb-x9C1nIN00TAKyBzwWzAJV0YqqoKAGOFMg" border="0" alt="" /><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>The more I think about it, the more anxious I am getting for school to start in February. It feels like an eternity since I've been to school, and I cannot wait to get back. However, I'm worried that I might be in over my head with 19 units of all academic classes. I guess we'll see! I probably won't get around to posting much on this blog when that time comes.</div><div><br /></div><img src="https://encrypted-tbn1.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRNVuYvhHZ4xXVhnpR_eWh0dX-IySpbRBHMf9n8pVBGDR57LV0Ibw" border="0" alt="" style="float: left; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; cursor: pointer; width: 259px; height: 194px; " /><div>Apparently Wikipedia is doing a "blackout" in protest of Congress censoring the internet. I find the internet to be a huge help when researching for school, and from the little I know about this movement, I would fight to keep the</div><div> internet free to all. But if Congress really did go through with this, it's not like we don't have libraries to do</div><img src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SW5ep4i47bY/TxZ150KIF4I/AAAAAAAAAQ8/8_0Rb9vXKFA/s200/googleblackout.png" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5698872014598051714" style="float: right; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 10px; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 108px; " /><div> research and other forms of documentation or studying. I think some people these days forget we CAN survive without technology for every little aspect of our lives. Google's "Doodle" is even censored out for the protests.</div><div><br /></div><div>On the topic of censoring things on the internet, some people should really censor what they post to social networks. I'm at a loss for understanding why some people thinks it is cool to post vulgar profanity on their facebooks or twitters. Or even promiscuous photos of them. Frankly, it's trashy. Also, when you have pictures of you drunk at parties plastered all over your profiles, it sends off a bad signal to professional people such as employers, or people who are reviewing your applications for groups, or committees. Think before you click!</div><div><br /></div><div>So I've done my preaching for tonight. Next time I might have more interesting things to post...that's if I can remember them! Good night, and have a terrific Wednesday!</div><div><br /></div><div>~Marcea</div><div><div><br /></div></div>Marceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697057639626826037.post-11100896014711156902012-01-09T23:17:00.000-08:002012-01-10T00:39:03.569-08:00I Won't Give Up<span style="text-align: left; ">So I'm trying to get back in the habit of posting on this blog. I think b</span><span style="text-align: left; ">efore yesterday, I hadn't posted since my junior year of high school....</span><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Of course a lot has happened since then. </div><div style="text-align: left;">I've graduated and now I'm at the local community college planning to transfer after I finish my Associates Degree. I'm hoping to transfer to a UC, but I am not set on exactly where. Maybe I will apply other places, or maybe some private colleges. Definitely still going for UCLA! Go Bruins!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">So...where to begin again? Maybe a review of my last semester at college. I took six classes: Ceramics(Intro to Wheel), Concert Band, Art History(Renaissance to Modern), Intro to Philosophy, Calculus I, and Psychology 101. That was a total of 19 units, and I'm proud to say I received a 4.0 this semester. Honestly, the hardest classes for me were Ceramics and Philosophy. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my classes, except for my psychology class. I guess when you have had Debby Chaddick for AP Psychology, you will never find anyone to be as good as her. haha.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Here are pictures of some of my favorite pieces I made in Ceramics.</div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AJUSjJGQqyQ/TwvxrrNBD9I/AAAAAAAAAQU/FHATzlpMjrI/s200/DSC00963.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5695911886374113234" style="text-align: left;display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px; " /></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">A trash can jar</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left; "><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yEWbf1yfBuA/Twv0JkKKASI/AAAAAAAAAQg/sM6uuSFPhmo/s200/DSC00966.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5695914598902399266" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 150px; height: 200px; " /><div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div></div></div><div style="text-align: center;">A Jellyfish Jar</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div style="text-align: left;">Next semester I plan to take a full load again. So far I'm planning for:</div><div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">-POLS 101 Honors (Intro to Political Science)</div><div style="text-align: left;">-PSY 211 (Chicano Psychology) </div><div style="text-align: left;">-MATH 160 (Calculus II)</div><div style="text-align: left;">-CHEM 110 (Basic Chemistry)</div><div style="text-align: left;">-ART 104 (Art History-Contemporary Art)</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">I'm looking forward to taking these classes...and the psychology class should prove interesting. I'm not taking that class on my own free will- it fulfills one of my Diversity requirements for transfer.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Other than school, I have had quite a few highlights from last year.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">One of my favorites was going to see Jason Mraz and Toca Rivera live in San Diego for a special acoustic session. I was so lucky to go with Kyle, and it was our birthday presents to ourselves. Jason is one of the most amazing artists, and his voice and lyrics are phenomenal! I think my brain was on sensory and pleasure overload afterwards...it was spectacular. We were able to hear some of his old work (which I love the most) and some new songs yet to be recorded. One of the songs was titled "I Won't Give Up" and it turns out it is number one on iTunes. The song is beautiful as a recording, but I definitely suggest you check out the live version <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KId5R_f-YI">here</a>. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><div><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KvbMM73fBqo/Twv2I1gSF3I/AAAAAAAAAQs/G09RiVurDrs/s320/010.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5695916785401993074" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px; " /></div><div><br /></div></div><div style="text-align: left;">Jason's work is inspiring, and his newest song has given me a mantra- I Won't Give Up. No matter what I am doing, I will not give up. I was never raised to give up and quit on any such thing, but sometimes I want to take the easy route, or just give minimal effort. I find it so rewarding to do a good job, and I will make sure whenever I am doubting myself or being less than I can be, I will tell myself- I won't give up. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">I know that I kind of bashed New Year's Resolutions in my last post, but if you are truly set on making a change in your life- go for it! Make sure it is really what you want to do, and DON'T GIVE UP and have faith in yourself. I truly believe every individual is strong when they believe in themselves. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">On that note, I'm out. I need to get to bed for work tomorrow. </div><div style="text-align: left;">Good Night, have a happy week! </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">~Marcea</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div></div>Marceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697057639626826037.post-51175399148172938742012-01-09T01:31:00.001-08:002012-01-09T01:38:39.499-08:00Twenty TwelveHappy New Year!<div>No, I do not believe this is the year the world is going to end, and all tragedy will strike. However, don't forget to live your life to its fullest extent! :D</div><div><br /></div><div>It has been much too long since I have posted on this blog. I haven't logged onto here for so long, that I forgot my sign in info. I blame it on my poor memory, and all of the other passwords I have to remember for the other time-sucking social networks I participate in. </div><div><br /></div><div>I'm going to keep this short and sweet since it is a little late to be blogging. I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday season, and I wish everyone a wonderful new year. Resolutions are incredibly fake and don't happen anyways, so do what you want and do what makes you happy. Maybe some realistic goals can help you out? </div><div><br /></div><div>Have a wonderful 2nd week of the year, as some of you go back to school, and work. I have about four more weeks until I start my semester- thank goodness! If I didn't have work, I would be completely bored out of my mind. </div><div><br /></div><div>Take Care, and Good Night!</div><div>-Marcea</div>Marceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697057639626826037.post-55867158864071193192010-07-12T16:09:00.000-07:002010-07-12T16:16:28.649-07:00Summertime<div style="text-align: left;">It really has been too long since my last post!</div><br />Well, currently, I'm loving my summer and i'm keeping myself busy with friends, going to the gym, and band-ish activities.<br /><br />I'm very excited for my upcoming senior year....I don't think it has really hit me that I only have one more year of high school left! I'm very anxious to get out of there...and move onto college. I'm planning on attending AVC and participating in the honors program there so I can transfer to a University such as UCLA. (Cross my fingers!!!!) I hope to one day, earn my Masters Degree in Accounting, so I can become a CPA. I'm not sure if it is my final plan, but it sounds like a good one to me.<br /><br />On a side note, Junior year was pretty cool!<img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/TDuR67Yh-LI/AAAAAAAAAPg/TukWp2m30MA/s320/mocktrial.jpg" style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 195px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5493144612067473586" /><ul><li>Our Mock Trial Team won District Championship for the 6th time in a row, and I'm really proud to say that! We worked so incredibly hard at practice, and it was totally worth it in the end. I'm really looking forward to it next year!</li><li>Prom 2010 was really fun. It was hosted at The Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, and I had a blast with Kyle as my date. I didn't dance the whole time because the moment you came within 100 yards of the dance floor, you felt a wave of heat and sweat and all things nasty radiating off those kids. So instead of making ourselves uncomfortable, we went downstairs and I finally learned how to play Poker! Unfortunately, my brother was on the bus that broke down on the freeway, so he missed a few hours of the fun! =[</li><li>The Band Trip to San Diego was a blast. We did a lot of cool things every single day! I didn't think San Diego was going to be so great. A big thanks to Hollie and Tarren for being amazing roommates. I had a great time. Once I get the pictures off my camera, i'll be sure to put them up on Facebook. </li><li>And last but not least, The Band Banquet! Everyone who received an award totally deserved it! I am very fortunate to say that I will be the Drum Major for next year, and Emily Manetti will be the Assistant Drum Major! I couldn't be more excited! It will definitely be fun next marching season!</li></ul>Speaking of band, Emily and I attended Drum Major Camp about two weeks ago. Just like last year, we went to the USA Drum Major Camp held at UCLA for four days. It was totally a blast, and Emily did a fantastic job! I think the instructors really liked us both! This year I stepped out of my comfort zone, and made a whole bunch of new friends. I really regret not making that many friends last year. One night, all the drum majors threw a party in the lounge in the dorms, and I couldn't imagine more outgoing, band-loving, fun people in one room. It was great. During my course of the Summer Camp, I was one of the few chosen who were offered a job with the company as an instructor. I can't take the job until i'm 18, but I'll definitely keep it in mind! I think Emily and I represented QHHS well. I hope to see all of my Drum Major friends during competitions. :]<br /><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/TDuWBK41wEI/AAAAAAAAAPw/mFBZg2_vpUY/s320/drummajorcamp.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5493149117355245634" /><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/TDuVqURCSfI/AAAAAAAAAPo/g280RcnHiGc/s320/drummajorcamp2.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5493148724735658482" /><br /><div><br /></div><div>I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July! My family tried something new this year-- we attended a Rodeo hosted by the City of Lancaster at the AV Fairgrounds, then immediately following, there was a huge fireworks show. It was definately the best fireworks show i've seen...they even had Sousa marches playing on the speakers. haha. All in all, I hope everyone's day was nice and safe!</div><div><br /><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/TDuZK0EhZSI/AAAAAAAAAP4/fU1cL7JtxZs/s200/dodgers.bmp" style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 196px; height: 200px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5493152581563802914" />Last Wednesday, Kyle took me to my first LA Dodgers game. One of his family friends gave him the tickets after being unable to make it. We had great seats, and I had a wonderful time. It was so much fun! Unfortunately, the Dodgers lost against the Florida Marlins 4-0.</div><div><br /></div><div>Just yesterday, the FIFA World Cup 2010 ended. After watching game after game, I'm pretty glad a country like Spain won. I was rooting for Holland to win in the final, but it was wrong for me to doubt the powers of <a href="http://www.csmonitor.com/Science/Discoveries/2010/0712/Octopus-Paul-retires-international-dispute-over-ownership-begins">Paul the Oracle Octopus</a>. All in all, the World Cup was very entertaining to watch minus the droning sound of the Vuvuzelas. </div><div><br /></div><div>Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful week! I better get started on my summer reading...I'm only on page 50 of <u>Slaughter House Five</u>! </div><div><br /></div><div>-Marcea ♥</div>Marceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697057639626826037.post-73095574243272602232009-11-24T18:09:00.000-08:002009-11-24T18:28:49.986-08:00Heaven ForbidThe Fray and Lady Gaga have been basically the only thing I've been listening to for the past few months! I got Lady Gaga's new Album, <em>The Fame Monster</em>, as a birthday gift yesterday, and I absolutely LOVE it. She is very different, but she has a great voice!<br /><div></div><div> <br /></div><div>It's been a while since I've updated this.... Sad to say, I'm always on Facebook.</div><br /><div></div><div>I'm so glad I've got a week off for Thanksgiving! It's not like my classes were giving me a hard time, but it's nice not having to wake up early or worry about other things. I'm actually starting Driving School at Rightway tomorrow! It'll be for the next four consecutive days (excluding Thanksgiving Day) and I'm really excited! </div><div></div><br /><div>It feels like this years Marching Season has gone by quickly, we had our last "Big" competition at Moorpark last Saturday. Although we did not place, I was very proud with the band's performance. That was a good feeling. ;D</div><div></div><br /><div>Coming up here in the future, I will be participating with the school's Mock Trial team, and I am very excited for the experience that comes with it. It will be neck to neck with Marching Band practice, but we only have two more weeks of that. </div><div></div><br /><div>With these past few Sundays, I have thoroughly enjoyed T of R practice. I was surprised to make it this year, but I am very happy I did. The music is very fun, and it includes four different genres. The march has to be the hardest, and I really need to go work on it....</div><div></div><br /><div>I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! </div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407862189568455058" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 290px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 344px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/SwyWAmN-cZI/AAAAAAAAAPY/NbXuxnchF3w/s320/image0044.jpg" border="0" /><br />♥ MarceaMarceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697057639626826037.post-59486656236093909042009-08-25T20:22:00.001-07:002009-08-25T20:57:27.895-07:00Russian Roulette Is Not the Same Without a Gun...<div align="left">Wow!<br /></div><div align="left">I can't believe it's already the third week of school. </div><div align="left"><br /></div><div align="left">My official schedule is...<br /></div><div align="left">AP Calculus AB - C. I just came from our parade around the AV Fair. Band practice has been very efficient and I feel like it's going to be a great year. The music sounds pretty good too! The volume is getting there, but I sometimes just have these moments where I can't help but smile because I am so glad to be a part of the band. It's 11:00 PM, and I need to be working on fixing my sleeping routine for school....<br /><br /><strong>Random Thoughts of the Night~~~~</strong><br />*-.,_,.-*'`'*-.,Have you ever sat there with other people and just stuck your tongue out? Like, tried making crazy designs? Or tried seeing who could touch their nose? It's actually really fun once you realize how silly everyone looks. ^_^<br /><br />I am so super excited for marching band. I am not being pessimistic about it one bit. I know it's not going to be all of what i've been daydreaming about, but I just can't wait. The football games, the competitions, the parades....man!<br /><br />Today I realized how much I love my pets. When I grow up, I always want to have pets!<br /><br />Have you ever watched the sun set at the beach over the water? I can't even describe how much I loved it! I have to thank the QHHS Band Boosters sooooo very much for paying for Mitch, Chelsea, and I to attend!<br /><div><div><div><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/SmeimPnTTrI/AAAAAAAAAOY/ZFgnnl4UdQQ/s1600-h/welcome_bar.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361432659317968562" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 184px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 85px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/SmeimPnTTrI/AAAAAAAAAOY/ZFgnnl4UdQQ/s320/welcome_bar.jpg" border="0" /></a></div>Our Drum Major Camp took place at UCLA from July 16-19. There were about 50-60 kids in our class and 5 Instructors. At first I was a little intimidated by the other Drum Majors (Some had been attending DM Camp for years!!) but by the end of the first day, I realized they were just like anyone else! I was thankful enough to room with Chelsea, so there was no need to immediately open myself up to someone I wasn't familiar with. </div><div><br /></div><div>After check-in, we headed to unpack in our beautiful dorms located in Rieber Hall. After a mad dash down the long flights of stairs down to the stadium (And an almost potentially dangerous fall down the stairs) Chelsea and I had just made it in time for the orientation. From there it just got better. We started off with a Drilldown, and of course, I came no where near the finals. (The people who win have no honor! Hah, just kidding) The main culprit of failure during drilldowns was the need to change how we marked time and counted parade rest. Other than the drilldowns though, we got into our Unity/Baton Spinning/Conducting Groups.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>The Unity groups were random selection, and ours turned out to be really awesome! Our group was called The Watermatos (Hybrid between Watermelons & Tomatoes) and the other three groups were Pomograpes, Lazacos, and Banangos. I got to know everyone in that group fairly well, and throughout the course of camp, we did many unity games/activities together. </div><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/SmetHvPUvoI/AAAAAAAAAO4/qKj_RIp0pxs/s1600-h/lg309.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361444229859294850" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 40px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 161px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/SmetHvPUvoI/AAAAAAAAAO4/qKj_RIp0pxs/s200/lg309.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><div></div><div></div><div><br />As for the Spinning/Conducting class, I enrolled in Intermediate level for the both of them. Mitch joined me in the Spinning, but went advanced for Conducting. Chelsea did the exact opposite, and joined me in the Conducting, but went advanced for Spinning. I believe we all made good choices in that, and we all challenged ourselves to the point of sanity. From those classes I learned some really cool things. (Including in what my opinion is a really awesome Baton routine!) It wasn't easy though! Every meal break was spent practicing! The Baton really bruised up my arms/wrists, but it was all very worth it at the end. </div><div><br /></div><div>Besides the classes, I also got quite a bit closer to Chelsea. We partied it up til midnite and then payed for it every morning at 5:30 AM. I can't complain though! Who doesn't love sneaking around past curfew just to buy some pretzels and M&M's from a vending machine?! We had fun, and Mitch was always there to keep us in-line. Hah<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361442107203791762" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 132px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 170px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/SmerMLu0K5I/AAAAAAAAAOw/8qhSvd1vVEk/s200/chris.bmp" border="0" />On the last night, the fabulous USA Drum Major Instructional Staff, Chris, Nadya, Steven, Todd, and Kathleen took us to a nice area in UCLA where they performed a Drum Major version of Harry Potter. The skit they performed was entitled, <em>Marchy Potter</em>. It was hilarious, and it was a good way to end the night. This a picture of staff from the brochure, and I decided to include it because the guy is Chris, one of the staff from our camp. He was probably my favorite. :)</div><div></div><div><br /></div><div>This whole experience gave me so much. I am just so happy and thankful I got to be a part of it. It made me come out of my shell, and added a lot more to my spirit. In addition, I learned a lot about being a leader. All of the corny jokes, crazy routines, and strange chants/things we did really made it fun. I really hope that I have the honor to be able to attend again next summer! </div><div></div><div><br /></div><div>If you wanna know more, and you aren't already bored with this whole entire post, i'll be happy to sit there and tell you how awesome this whole experience was. </div><div><br /></div><div>Have a nice wednesday! I'll see everyone at the band rehearsal tomorrow! :]</div><div></div><div><br /></div><div>♥Marcea</div><div></div><div>P.S. - On a side note--- If you ever attend UCLA, be very prepared for the copius amounts of stairs/inclines and declines! :D </div></div></div>Marceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697057639626826037.post-72781496993666001142009-07-15T15:57:00.000-07:002009-07-15T16:20:10.832-07:00Bitter SweetSorry for the long intervals between posts!<br /><div><div><div><div><p>I hope everyone is having a fine and dandy summer vacation. So far, I've had a good summer. I'm getting ample amounts of sleep, I'm hanging out with my friends, I got no homework, and I can sit down and watch as much CSI as I'd like.... :D<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/SkxVEJu7ANI/AAAAAAAAANg/rgI7Q1nJvhM/s1600-h/x2.bmp"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353747586857238738" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 158px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 207px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/SkxVEJu7ANI/AAAAAAAAANg/rgI7Q1nJvhM/s320/x2.bmp" border="0" /></a>On Monday, June 22nd, I went with Kevin, Hailey, and Kyra to Magic Mountain for Hailey's birthday. It was a nice day out, and I'm proud to say we hit up every awesome ride! X2 was definately the scariest ride i've ever been on...and i'm afraid to do it again. haha. I must say though, the new ride Terminator was pretty awesome. It was much more fun than I thought it would be. The day was really great, and I had an good time screaming my head off, and getting soaked on Roaring Rapids. :D</p><p>Drum Major camp is starting tomorrow! I'm so super excited! I've been looking forward to this experience all summer, and I'm glad it's finally here. Mitch, Chelsea, and I will be at the USA DM Camp hosted at UCLA from July 16-19. When I get back, i'll post some pictures! </p><p>So far, I've watched quite a bit of movies this summer, and I plan on watching a lot more! Some include, <em>Sabrina, Ms. Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Blast from the Past, The Devil Wears Prada, My Sisters Keeper, The Proposal, Dragonfly, Steel Magnolias, Family Man, </em>and just today I went and saw <em>Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.</em> I enjoyed some more than others, but all were not a disappointment.</p><p>I'm sure all of you that read this have heard of our musical selections for the upcoming marching season. Riverdance for the field show, and The Aviators by John Phillip Sousa for the March. If you guys want the music file, I can email it to you. :)</p><p>Just the other week, I was invited to Ventura Beach with Kyle's family. It was a beautiful day, <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sl5Yxj4bxpI/AAAAAAAAANw/ckDdK9dnOww/s1600-h/downsized_0707091731a.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358818215086245522" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sl5Yxj4bxpI/AAAAAAAAANw/ckDdK9dnOww/s320/downsized_0707091731a.jpg" border="0" /></a>and I am really happy I went. We built a Sand Castle/Fortress thing, caught crabs in the rocks, (Or more like, watched Connor chase them) and just in general soaked up the sun. The following day, my mom decided to take our family down to the beach too. Instead of Ventura though, we went a little farther to a nice day beach, Faria. The weather was beautiful, and we got to enjoy yet another day at the beach with some friends. Towards the end of our trip, this sea lion came out of the ocean, walked up on the beach, and got up on the rocks right next to us. It didn't look too good, and I figured it was probably dying due a natural release of Domoic Acid in that area of the ocean. Although it was a sad realization, we left before we watched anymore of the poor creature's pain. Altogether it was a nice trip. </p><p>Well, it's almost 4, and I havn't started packing for DM Camp which is in less than 24 hours. I hope everyone has a very lovely rest of the week, and a nice weekend!</p><p>♥Marcea </p></div></div></div></div>Marceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697057639626826037.post-63644401295695136022009-06-16T16:51:00.000-07:002009-06-16T17:30:05.400-07:00Never Say NeverI love the Fray. ♥<br /><br />Sorry for the very long absence of a post. I can't say i've been too busy, I just never got around to Blogger. I believe I left off at the Band Banquet...<br /><br />That week we had the Living Art Show. Me, Kayla Foote, Quayla Mauk, Le<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sjgx7OV-dXI/AAAAAAAAANY/djFFbgaKm0s/s1600-h/DiegoVelazquez-LasMeninasedit.GIF"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348079451034776946" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 237px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 162px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sjgx7OV-dXI/AAAAAAAAANY/djFFbgaKm0s/s320/DiegoVelazquez-LasMeninasedit.GIF" border="0" /></a>igh Chang, and Kyle McPherson were all in the piece <em>Las Meninas </em>by Diego Velazquez. When I get a good quality picture of us from the actual show, I'll post it. I think i'm going to have to ask DeGroff.... I enjoyed the whole thing, although I don't think I would want to do it again. Mind you, we had 3 days to paint everything, build the canvas you see in the left, and get the costumes. It was definately a challenge, but thanks to everyone, it came together quite nicely.<br /><br />The next big thing after that was graduation. I was afraid I was going to ball my eyes out, but it didn't happen. [Don't get me wrong, I was very sad] I kind of started to tear up when they walked out, but I wasn't actually crying. hah. It was then when I was conducting for the band that being assistant drum major finally hit me. Anyways, I wish all the seniors leaving us the best of luck in their lives! I can't believe i'm another year closer to that....<br /><br />Speaking of Drum Major related things...Mitch, Chelsea, and I have signed up for the Drum Major Camp at UCLA if you hadn't already heard. It will be from July 16-19 and I am soooo very excited. I'm sure it will be an amazing experience.<br /><br />If you click <a href="http://www.arrangerspublishingcompany.com/">here</a>, you can search "Riverdance" and find our field show music recordings for next year. =] I like the musical selection a lot. It features some of our sections very nicely. Just the other day, I caught myself thinking like I was still in the Clarinet section, which makes me rather sad. I know i'll enjoy Assistant Drum Major though.<br /><br />I am so glad i'm done with the school year though. It was definately an experience. I have to thank all my friends for the good times. I know it wasn't always the greatest, but we made it through changed and more mature. I'm actually really looking forward to my junior year...regardless if it will be more difficult than this year was.<br /><br />I have a facebook account. Yes, I know I am a hypocrit. I know I bashed on it several posts ago. I find it much easier to contact the people I need to contact however. Sorry.<br /><br />Last week, I went to our annual beach camping trip. This time my brother brought his friend Marcos, and I brought Kyle. It was from Sunday to Friday (June 7th-June 12th) When I get the pictures up on the computer, i'll post them either on here or facebook or both. It was so much fun! I now have a slightly darker skin tone.<br /><br />I just realized i've been slouching the whole time i've been typing this...jeez....<br /><br />Well, I dont have too many pictures to upload at the moment! Even the trip pics are incomplete, but you can find a few on my facebook profile. I hope everyone has a really awesome week.<br />Happy Tuesday!<br /><br />♥ Marcea<br /><div></div>Marceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697057639626826037.post-19525088042785364342009-05-19T22:57:00.001-07:002009-05-19T23:04:40.420-07:00SpeechlessOhhhhh man.<br /><br />I just wanted to make a quick blog post since I just can't focus at all on my homework tonight. I was named Assistant Drum Major (For the Field Shows) for the QHHS Band just about a little of 2.5 hours ago....and it was <strong>*a*m*a*z*i*n*g*</strong>! I have to thank all of you, for your support, your encouragement, and your faith. I love you all!<br /><br />....Still ectastic about the whole ordeal. =D<br />I honestly don't think i'll be able to sleep at all tonight.<br />Jeez.<br />Man.<br />Wow.<br />Ok, i'll stop obsessing! haha<br /><br />Thanks Again to <u>EVERYONE</u>!!!!<br />=D =D<br /><br />♥♥ Marceaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! =] ♥♥Marceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697057639626826037.post-70192337848021483842009-05-03T19:32:00.001-07:002009-05-03T19:55:40.062-07:00Third of May<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sf5T6WJGyTI/AAAAAAAAANQ/QuMpK4qgEuw/s1600-h/3rdofmay.bmp"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5331791270694537522" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 242px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sf5T6WJGyTI/AAAAAAAAANQ/QuMpK4qgEuw/s320/3rdofmay.bmp" border="0" /></a><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-family:arial;">___</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:arial;font-size:130%;">I__(^_^)__I</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;"></span><span style="font-family:arial;">\......./</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:arial;">\..../</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:arial;">\./</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:arial;">I I</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:arial;">_I I_ </span></div><div align="center"></div><div align="left">For all you Art History Geeks. It took a lot of effort, and it makes me happy to see her succeed! I wish you the best of luck! Heres to You Pris! =D<br /></div><div align="left"><br />Family Get Together was last weekend. I have to say, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. It wasn't so awkard between my second cousins, and I got to learn a lot of my mom's side of the family history. (I am Swiss, and Irish and that schizophrenia runs in the family on my mothers side[That one wasn't so great to learn about]) Agoura Hills is such a green, pretty place...not like this ugly desert. All us women made some wreaths, so when I find the camera, i'll post the pics. Altogether it was a lovely day. </div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"><br />Drum Major tryouts were last wednesday (4/29) and I am soooooo relieved they are over. I'm missing practice, especially with all the friends i've made. It was a really cool experience and was much different than what I had expected. I'm glad I got to participate in it. </div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"><br />If you ever go to the Sagebrush Cafe down in Quartz Hill, make sure you go when Taylor is working there. Then ask for a "Chocolate Dream on Hazlenut Syrup". Taylor came up with that one, and it is amazing! =D</div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"><br />The Trip is a little over a week away, and i'm soooo super excited! I'm having less doubts about my ears, now that the doctor has me flushing my sinuses with steroids to keep them open which keeps my Eustachian Tubes open. (Sorry about that last sentence) McQ showed us a tenative itinerary the other day, and it looks like we'll be having a blast! I can't wait!</div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"><br />Well, I should be doing Art History, or continue studying for the AP Chem. I'm sorry it has taken so long to post. For the past few weeks, homework, and drum major have been on my schedule. And in the event in which I don't have to do anything for either of those, I'm usually caught napping. =D </div><div align="left"><br /></div><div align="left">So lets see....before spring break is about where I left off. I'll try to cover some big, or interesting(At least to Me) events that has happened.<br /></div><div align="left">Solo/Ensemble Festival 2009 --- It was really awesome. I wish I could have seen more performances, but I helped the whole day as a runner/bouncer. Good experience, but I think I prefer to be the performer in that case....Congrats to everyone. You all did GREAT. =D</div><div align="left"><br /></div><div align="left">Spring Break was spent very well indeed. =] Over the course of a week, I went to see <em>Knowing </em>(I don't suggest seeing it. It's not great acting and it's just really depressing), hung out with my friends, rode bikes in Newport, and hung out with a really old friend who came to visit from Florida. It went by faster than I had really wanted it to, but it was nice to get back into the routine of school. (Except the HW) Here are some of the pics from the beach.<br /><br /></div><div align="center"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5320680705163729474" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sdba6UKPGkI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/c_fgDelXFig/s200/Beach000+(2).jpg" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5320685884472520466" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/SdbfnylrbxI/AAAAAAAAAMg/xUET3kdZ_30/s200/Beach000+(12).jpg" border="0" /></div><div align="center">my mom and aunt being silly.<br /></div><div align="center">In case you can't read the flag it says,<br /><br />"Wine a Bit. My mind is fuzzy. I think it's been taken over by memorizing Art History and Chemistry equations. School has been School, and I'm really ready for it to be over already. gosh! About a month left though...so I'm pretty excited.<br /></p><p align="left">Right now I should be studying for the AP Chem, or working on my routine for drum major (What with the tryouts being next wednesday and all...) but I need to blog. It's ridiculous. </p><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/SfKPFCCzdxI/AAAAAAAAANI/yQcVi3IYcXU/s1600-h/0310091237a.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5328478625743468306" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/SfKPFCCzdxI/AAAAAAAAANI/yQcVi3IYcXU/s200/0310091237a.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><p align="left">So I thought I would add this pic to this post simply because I think it is cool. Maybe I'm immature because I like it, frankly I don't care. HAha, I made it at lunch a few weeks ago. I guess I can say its Aesthetically Pleasing. =D And there is something in me where I have a big urge to draw faces on fruit. (I can give credit to my tenoras for that)<br /></p><p align="left">We have a upcoming concert for QHHS. I'm kind of excited for it. Not too happy about some of the pieces we'll be playing, but I think it will be nice. (I hope) May 5th. Wooh, in honor of Cinco de Mayo, McQ will be having us play a 'Zacatecas March' I just hope it goes well. </p><p align="left">I wish I was in Senora Rocca's spanish class. =[ Then I can make salsa on Cinco de Mayo again. </p><p align="left">Band trip is coming up, and i'm getting rather afraid. Partly because i'll be farther than I have ever been from my family, partly because I don't remember what flying in an airplane was like ( Last time I did, I was 6), but mostly because my ears have horribly functioning Eustachian tubes which will not allow my ear to equalize pressure changes. I'm going in to the doctors on Monday, and possibly getting a procedure where they drill a hole in my ear to help the pressure. I'm not quite sure what it is all about exactly, but it should help with the pressure change during the plane flight. I hope all goes well. Mrs. LeBeau kinda freaked me out....</p><p align="left">So math has gotten pretty cool I suppose. We're in sin, cos, tan, csc, sec, cot graph functions. At first I didn't like it, but I have changed my mind over the past few days. I hope you like the title of the post....If you want to be a nerd, use this little mathematical pick-up line. HAH, tell me if you do, and if actually works for you. </p><p align="left">Well, i'm off to a busy weekend of drum major practice, family get-togethers, sweet 16s, and lots of AP Chem/Art History work. Oh joy. =]</p><p align="left">Have a nice weekend everyone!</p><p align="left">-Marceaaa♥</p>Marceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697057639626826037.post-53659167265241621172009-04-15T20:32:00.000-07:002009-04-15T20:38:39.226-07:00"The Internet Symphony"<object width="580" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/oC4FAyg64OI&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/oC4FAyg64OI&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="580" height="360"></embed></object>Marceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697057639626826037.post-21840377371628265842009-03-16T19:42:00.000-07:002009-03-16T19:56:35.501-07:00"When there is no place safe and no safe place to put my head..."School is keeping me plenty busy! Thank goodness for Spring Break next week. Except, break doesn't exist in a lot of people's vocabulary anymore...so that means all the work we do at school is now to be done at home. =]<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sb8OyRuM7RI/AAAAAAAAAMA/U_PFiN_cKtY/s1600-h/pi.bmp"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313982342233910546" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 127px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 112px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sb8OyRuM7RI/AAAAAAAAAMA/U_PFiN_cKtY/s200/pi.bmp" border="0" /></a><br />Happy Belated Pi day! I hope everyone enjoyed such a mathematical day and enjoyed a nice slice of Pie. I myself had celebrated both Friday and Saturday. (One in Coach Degnan's room and the other at Marie Callenders with a few friends) I had a good time, got fat, and was introduced to the TV Show <em>How I Met Your Mother</em>. That show is hilarious! Its recording on my DVR as I type.<br /><br />CAHSEE is tomorrow. I'm so nervous. =/ Yeah right. I hear its way the heck easy. This senior in my Art History told me that I can get an hour of sleep, be on meth, have a mental disorder, and still pass the test. Hah. I'm not planning to try that...but I'm confident it's going to be a breeze.<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sb8IbK6VQHI/AAAAAAAAALw/EeDd8lXYU50/s1600-h/cond.bmp"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313975348198981746" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 109px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 109px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sb8IbK6VQHI/AAAAAAAAALw/EeDd8lXYU50/s400/cond.bmp" border="0" /></a>I'm am now attending Drum Major lessons offered by Rachel and Brendan. I am trying out for next year, and there is always a chance I can make it, but being a junior next year won't help. (Besides, i'm still learning) It's a pretty cool experience. =]<br /><br /><br /><br /><p>I am an idiot. A big baby in fact. I learned a pretty valuable lesson the other day...look before you EVER open a car door in a parking lot. You can lose an arm...or a car door. Enough said.</p><p>Check out these <a href="http://blogs.static.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/23600.html">8 Brilliant Scientific Screw-Ups</a>. A particular someone always reminded me not to screw up...but what if I turned out like these guys? Hah, just kidding.</p><p>Well, class registration was just a few weeks ago. I've decided to take the AP route. Not that I don't feel <em>smart</em> enough to take IB...I just can't take the amount of time you need to put in. I want to remember highschool as a good thing, not a time where I killed myself with work. I just can't arrange an IB diploma and still have a life. I know a few people who can, but not me. Anyways, these are the classes I'm taking next year.</p><ul><li><strong>AP Calculus AB</strong> (I'm extremely excited for this class!)</li><li><strong>AP English 11</strong></li><li><strong>IB Chemistry SL</strong></li><li><strong>AP U.S. History</strong> (Not looking forward to this whatsoever)</li><li><strong>Teacher's Assistant</strong> (For Coach Degnan)</li><li><strong>Spanish 3</strong></li></ul><p>So yes. This is my schedule. I've thought about this and my senior year classes as well. I'm getting my all my credits just fine. I know being a TA isn't the best...but I could use a "study hall" period. </p>Renaissance art is so beautiful. (I've kept up with my cards finally)<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313980026096863106" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 228px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sb8MrdcGR4I/AAAAAAAAAL4/LLDV2cDQFek/s400/michelangelo.bmp" border="0" /><br /><p>Saturday was our "last" parade for the QHHS Band 08-09. (We have another for the Band Trip, but that only counts for some people) The Almond Blossom Festival is always a fun little thing I like to attend with my mom. After a few years of wanting it, we FINALLY signed up to take the Painting on Water Art Class. It looks so awesome. April 18th baybee! haha. I'm so excited. </p><p align="left">I hope everyone has a great week! Hopefully it goes fast. =] Just remember,</p><p align="center"><br /><span style="font-size:130%;color:#99ffff;"><span style="font-family:monotype corsiva;">"When everything is falling apart, there's no reason to fall with it."</span></span><br /></p><p>♥ Marceaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!</p>Marceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697057639626826037.post-47589985971245866762009-02-28T13:27:00.000-08:002009-02-28T13:27:17.385-08:00You Never Know Just How the Story Ends...Its the last day of February. =[ I'm not ready for March.<br /><br />A lot has been going on from the last time I've posted...well, not really, but enough to have something to blog about. Lets start back at the sunday before last. (2/15)<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Samd8YXBQBI/AAAAAAAAALQ/88eJAw4TWoc/s1600-h/l_ef63987717124b83af79f892c2511b69.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5307947296489553938" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Samd8YXBQBI/AAAAAAAAALQ/88eJAw4TWoc/s200/l_ef63987717124b83af79f892c2511b69.jpg" border="0" /></a> On the 15th was a Sweet 16 for my good friend, Kellie. It was Rock N Roll themed, and I'm sure everyone had a GREAT time. I got crazy, but I didn't do anything I regret and I had sooooo much fun. =] Some of the coolest things I did was dance on bubble wrap. It's a good stress reliever. Haha<br /><br />Adding to the fun that week, we had Monday off. I went with Priscila to see <i>He's Just Not That Into You</i> at the theatres, and well, it was an OK movie. Pretty cute, but it wasn't a favorite. I recommend you see it if you're into the whole chemistry between the average couple today. =P<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Samj2wPNX3I/AAAAAAAAALY/beR-ROtxbbc/s1600-h/0217091631.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5307953796889796466" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Samj2wPNX3I/AAAAAAAAALY/beR-ROtxbbc/s200/0217091631.jpg" border="0" /></a> For the third day in a row, I had another outing that was a lot of fun. On tuesday the 17th, the QHHS band went to Disneyland. I hung out with Kevin, Pris, and Kyle. We had a GREAT time, and were totally crazy on the rides. Screaming on every one, including Star Tours. (It is just so exhilarating!)This was a particular favorite of mine. Kyle's face cracks me up. (And his hand conveniently covers my face =])<br /><br />Come Wednesday, the fun was over. I woke up, tried getting ready for school, but felt like I was dying. I begged my mom to let me stay home. (Shame on me because I missed the day before for Disneyland) After a long lecture from my mom, and a Doctors visit, I was diagnosed with Pneumonia, and was required to stay home the rest of the week. Not a very fun experience, coughing my lungs up and such. After that I had to look forward to lots of make-up work and getting the pneumonia out of my system. I must say though, looking at the X-Ray was rather fascinating to me. =]<br /><br />After that whole experience, life returned to normal. Classwork resumed, and everything was what it was supposed to be.<br /><br />Did you ever wonder just how a cell phone worked?<br />Indulge on the wonderful biochemical pathways <a href="http://www.expasy.ch/cgi-bin/show_thumbnails.pl">Here</a>.<br /><br />Yesterday was the multicultural assembly, and as always, it was the best assembly of the year. Some personal favorites of mine were the Tinikling, the Irish Jig, and the Mexican dress dancing. The coordinators of the assembly did a fantastic job. I'm thinking I want to participate in that next year, but I need to find an act to do.<br />Great Job everyone.<br /><br /><br /><p><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sambi5YxofI/AAAAAAAAALI/T9qAfVYvCGw/s1600-h/l_325c34fd511e4f3c9107c518cab1c1ca.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5307944659655434738" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 147px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KpZk8updfow/Sambi5YxofI/AAAAAAAAALI/T9qAfVYvCGw/s200/l_325c34fd511e4f3c9107c518cab1c1ca.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />Just another pic from Bianca's Quince that I found. =]<br /><br /></p><p>I hope everyone has a great weekend and a great month!<br />♥Marc-UH! </p>Marceahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16257733999280924466noreply@blogger.com1
