Heaven Forbid

The Fray and Lady Gaga have been basically the only thing I've been listening to for the past few months! I got Lady Gaga's new Album, The Fame Monster, as a birthday gift yesterday, and I absolutely LOVE it. She is very different, but she has a great voice!

It's been a while since I've updated this.... Sad to say, I'm always on Facebook.

I'm so glad I've got a week off for Thanksgiving! It's not like my classes were giving me a hard time, but it's nice not having to wake up early or worry about other things. I'm actually starting Driving School at Rightway tomorrow! It'll be for the next four consecutive days (excluding Thanksgiving Day) and I'm really excited!

It feels like this years Marching Season has gone by quickly, we had our last "Big" competition at Moorpark last Saturday. Although we did not place, I was very proud with the band's performance. That was a good feeling. ;D

Coming up here in the future, I will be participating with the school's Mock Trial team, and I am very excited for the experience that comes with it. It will be neck to neck with Marching Band practice, but we only have two more weeks of that.

With these past few Sundays, I have thoroughly enjoyed T of R practice. I was surprised to make it this year, but I am very happy I did. The music is very fun, and it includes four different genres. The march has to be the hardest, and I really need to go work on it....

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Russian Roulette Is Not the Same Without a Gun...

Wow!
I can't believe it's already the third week of school.

My official schedule is...
AP Calculus AB - C. LeBeau
Symphonic Band - McQuilkin
US History - Coach Ray
English 11 - Thibault
Spanish 3 Honors - Rocca
IB Chemistry - A. LeBeau
Marching Band - McQuilkin

I'm not happy with my regular history and english, but there isn't anything I can do about it...so I really shouldn't complain. Otherwise, I see no more schedule changes...so this is it! Hope it's a good one! I'm loving Calculus...! (Not being sarcastic)

Band has been going so well! I just came from our parade around the AV Fair. Band practice has been very efficient and I feel like it's going to be a great year. The music sounds pretty good too! The volume is getting there, but I sometimes just have these moments where I can't help but smile because I am so glad to be a part of the band. (I know it sounds real cheesy, but I truly do)

This week and last week have been filled with fair things/events. I've been there Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and today. I'll also be there tomorrow. :D

I've been listening to Lady GaGa like crazy. It's so awesome. hah

I saw David Cook at the fair the other night! I thought the concert was really nice. Everything sounded good, and the weather was beautiful. A band by the name of Crash Kings performed for about 45 minutes before David Cook, and I really liked them. I need to get onto iTunes or YouTube and find them....

I'm really enjoying being Asst. Drum Major. I love Mitch and Chelsea so much. Of course, whenever we have a performance, or anything, I'm nervous, but I think i'll get used to it soon. I love it.

I can't remember anything else I really wanted to say on here, so I'm going to post some pictures!
So I had a random urge to draw a pokeball on

Kyle Chartier's Chemistry notes.... hahah

Sabrina, Ana, Kayla, Me, and Catherine after the AV Fair Parade on Lancaster Blvd.

I look totally stupid, but it's me giving out an awesome award. Band camp was a lot of fun, and it was very productive!

Ok, well, I need to get back to reading The Time Traveler's Wife. Usually I read the book before I see the crappy movie production...but this time it's different. I LOVED the movie, but I'm LOVING the book even more! :D Thanks to Nithya, I've had the chance to read it.

Hope everyone has a nice rest of the week as August comes around to a close. Just think, tomorrow you'll be half way through the week!

mmmkay, well talk to everyone later!

NIMBY

Not In My Back Yard!

Ok, so this is gonna be a short little post. It's 11:00 PM, and I need to be working on fixing my sleeping routine for school....

Random Thoughts of the Night~~~~
*-.,_,.-*'`'*-.,Have you ever sat there with other people and just stuck your tongue out? Like, tried making crazy designs? Or tried seeing who could touch their nose? It's actually really fun once you realize how silly everyone looks. ^_^

I am so super excited for marching band. I am not being pessimistic about it one bit. I know it's not going to be all of what i've been daydreaming about, but I just can't wait. The football games, the competitions, the parades....man!

Today I realized how much I love my pets. When I grow up, I always want to have pets!

Have you ever watched the sun set at the beach over the water? It's so cool, and oh so very beautiful. =] ,.-*'`'*-.,_,.-*

woooh, i'm so spacey today! hahahah
ummm, I had many more of them, but I just can't remember! (This ALWAYS happens when I sign into blogger to post my thoughts/ideas/events!)

I hope everyone has a fantastic week! See most of you at Band Camp! :D

How Do I Get Down?!

Drum Major Camp was a blast! I can't even describe how much I loved it! I have to thank the QHHS Band Boosters sooooo very much for paying for Mitch, Chelsea, and I to attend!

Our Drum Major Camp took place at UCLA from July 16-19. There were about 50-60 kids in our class and 5 Instructors. At first I was a little intimidated by the other Drum Majors (Some had been attending DM Camp for years!!) but by the end of the first day, I realized they were just like anyone else! I was thankful enough to room with Chelsea, so there was no need to immediately open myself up to someone I wasn't familiar with.

After check-in, we headed to unpack in our beautiful dorms located in Rieber Hall. After a mad dash down the long flights of stairs down to the stadium (And an almost potentially dangerous fall down the stairs) Chelsea and I had just made it in time for the orientation. From there it just got better. We started off with a Drilldown, and of course, I came no where near the finals. (The people who win have no honor! Hah, just kidding) The main culprit of failure during drilldowns was the need to change how we marked time and counted parade rest. Other than the drilldowns though, we got into our Unity/Baton Spinning/Conducting Groups.

The Unity groups were random selection, and ours turned out to be really awesome! Our group was called The Watermatos (Hybrid between Watermelons & Tomatoes) and the other three groups were Pomograpes, Lazacos, and Banangos. I got to know everyone in that group fairly well, and throughout the course of camp, we did many unity games/activities together.

As for the Spinning/Conducting class, I enrolled in Intermediate level for the both of them. Mitch joined me in the Spinning, but went advanced for Conducting. Chelsea did the exact opposite, and joined me in the Conducting, but went advanced for Spinning. I believe we all made good choices in that, and we all challenged ourselves to the point of sanity. From those classes I learned some really cool things. (Including in what my opinion is a really awesome Baton routine!) It wasn't easy though! Every meal break was spent practicing! The Baton really bruised up my arms/wrists, but it was all very worth it at the end.

Besides the classes, I also got quite a bit closer to Chelsea. We partied it up til midnite and then payed for it every morning at 5:30 AM. I can't complain though! Who doesn't love sneaking around past curfew just to buy some pretzels and M&M's from a vending machine?! We had fun, and Mitch was always there to keep us in-line. Hah

On the last night, the fabulous USA Drum Major Instructional Staff, Chris, Nadya, Steven, Todd, and Kathleen took us to a nice area in UCLA where they performed a Drum Major version of Harry Potter. The skit they performed was entitled, Marchy Potter. It was hilarious, and it was a good way to end the night. This a picture of staff from the brochure, and I decided to include it because the guy is Chris, one of the staff from our camp. He was probably my favorite. :)

This whole experience gave me so much. I am just so happy and thankful I got to be a part of it. It made me come out of my shell, and added a lot more to my spirit. In addition, I learned a lot about being a leader. All of the corny jokes, crazy routines, and strange chants/things we did really made it fun. I really hope that I have the honor to be able to attend again next summer!

If you wanna know more, and you aren't already bored with this whole entire post, i'll be happy to sit there and tell you how awesome this whole experience was.

Have a nice wednesday! I'll see everyone at the band rehearsal tomorrow! :]

♥Marcea
P.S. - On a side note--- If you ever attend UCLA, be very prepared for the copius amounts of stairs/inclines and declines! :D

Bitter Sweet

Sorry for the long intervals between posts!

I hope everyone is having a fine and dandy summer vacation. So far, I've had a good summer. I'm getting ample amounts of sleep, I'm hanging out with my friends, I got no homework, and I can sit down and watch as much CSI as I'd like.... :D

On Monday, June 22nd, I went with Kevin, Hailey, and Kyra to Magic Mountain for Hailey's birthday. It was a nice day out, and I'm proud to say we hit up every awesome ride! X2 was definately the scariest ride i've ever been on...and i'm afraid to do it again. haha. I must say though, the new ride Terminator was pretty awesome. It was much more fun than I thought it would be. The day was really great, and I had an good time screaming my head off, and getting soaked on Roaring Rapids. :D

Drum Major camp is starting tomorrow! I'm so super excited! I've been looking forward to this experience all summer, and I'm glad it's finally here. Mitch, Chelsea, and I will be at the USA DM Camp hosted at UCLA from July 16-19. When I get back, i'll post some pictures!

So far, I've watched quite a bit of movies this summer, and I plan on watching a lot more! Some include, Sabrina, Ms. Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Blast from the Past, The Devil Wears Prada, My Sisters Keeper, The Proposal, Dragonfly, Steel Magnolias, Family Man, and just today I went and saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I enjoyed some more than others, but all were not a disappointment.

I'm sure all of you that read this have heard of our musical selections for the upcoming marching season. Riverdance for the field show, and The Aviators by John Phillip Sousa for the March. If you guys want the music file, I can email it to you. :)

Just the other week, I was invited to Ventura Beach with Kyle's family. It was a beautiful day, and I am really happy I went. We built a Sand Castle/Fortress thing, caught crabs in the rocks, (Or more like, watched Connor chase them) and just in general soaked up the sun. The following day, my mom decided to take our family down to the beach too. Instead of Ventura though, we went a little farther to a nice day beach, Faria. The weather was beautiful, and we got to enjoy yet another day at the beach with some friends. Towards the end of our trip, this sea lion came out of the ocean, walked up on the beach, and got up on the rocks right next to us. It didn't look too good, and I figured it was probably dying due a natural release of Domoic Acid in that area of the ocean. Although it was a sad realization, we left before we watched anymore of the poor creature's pain. Altogether it was a nice trip.

Well, it's almost 4, and I havn't started packing for DM Camp which is in less than 24 hours. I hope everyone has a very lovely rest of the week, and a nice weekend!

Never Say Never

I love the Fray. ♥

Sorry for the very long absence of a post. I can't say i've been too busy, I just never got around to Blogger. I believe I left off at the Band Banquet...

That week we had the Living Art Show. Me, Kayla Foote, Quayla Mauk, Leigh Chang, and Kyle McPherson were all in the piece Las Meninas by Diego Velazquez. When I get a good quality picture of us from the actual show, I'll post it. I think i'm going to have to ask DeGroff.... I enjoyed the whole thing, although I don't think I would want to do it again. Mind you, we had 3 days to paint everything, build the canvas you see in the left, and get the costumes. It was definately a challenge, but thanks to everyone, it came together quite nicely.

The next big thing after that was graduation. I was afraid I was going to ball my eyes out, but it didn't happen. [Don't get me wrong, I was very sad] I kind of started to tear up when they walked out, but I wasn't actually crying. hah. It was then when I was conducting for the band that being assistant drum major finally hit me. Anyways, I wish all the seniors leaving us the best of luck in their lives! I can't believe i'm another year closer to that....

Speaking of Drum Major related things...Mitch, Chelsea, and I have signed up for the Drum Major Camp at UCLA if you hadn't already heard. It will be from July 16-19 and I am soooo very excited. I'm sure it will be an amazing experience.

If you click here, you can search "Riverdance" and find our field show music recordings for next year. =] I like the musical selection a lot. It features some of our sections very nicely. Just the other day, I caught myself thinking like I was still in the Clarinet section, which makes me rather sad. I know i'll enjoy Assistant Drum Major though.

I am so glad i'm done with the school year though. It was definately an experience. I have to thank all my friends for the good times. I know it wasn't always the greatest, but we made it through changed and more mature. I'm actually really looking forward to my junior year...regardless if it will be more difficult than this year was.

I have a facebook account. Yes, I know I am a hypocrit. I know I bashed on it several posts ago. I find it much easier to contact the people I need to contact however. Sorry.

Last week, I went to our annual beach camping trip. This time my brother brought his friend Marcos, and I brought Kyle. It was from Sunday to Friday (June 7th-June 12th) When I get the pictures up on the computer, i'll post them either on here or facebook or both. It was so much fun! I now have a slightly darker skin tone.

I just realized i've been slouching the whole time i've been typing this...jeez....

Well, I dont have too many pictures to upload at the moment! Even the trip pics are incomplete, but you can find a few on my facebook profile. I hope everyone has a really awesome week.
Happy Tuesday!

Third of May

For all you Art History Geeks. (Or anyone who gets this)

Oh, and Congratulations to Priscila for scoring a job as a Lifeguard for the City of Palmdale. I'm so proud of her. It took a lot of effort, and it makes me happy to see her succeed! I wish you the best of luck! Heres to You Pris! =D

Family Get Together was last weekend. I have to say, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. It wasn't so awkard between my second cousins, and I got to learn a lot of my mom's side of the family history. (I am Swiss, and Irish and that schizophrenia runs in the family on my mothers side[That one wasn't so great to learn about]) Agoura Hills is such a green, pretty place...not like this ugly desert. All us women made some wreaths, so when I find the camera, i'll post the pics. Altogether it was a lovely day.

Drum Major tryouts were last wednesday (4/29) and I am soooooo relieved they are over. I'm missing practice, especially with all the friends i've made. It was a really cool experience and was much different than what I had expected. I'm glad I got to participate in it.

If you ever go to the Sagebrush Cafe down in Quartz Hill, make sure you go when Taylor is working there. Then ask for a "Chocolate Dream on Hazlenut Syrup". Taylor came up with that one, and it is amazing! =D

The Trip is a little over a week away, and i'm soooo super excited! I'm having less doubts about my ears, now that the doctor has me flushing my sinuses with steroids to keep them open which keeps my Eustachian Tubes open. (Sorry about that last sentence) McQ showed us a tenative itinerary the other day, and it looks like we'll be having a blast! I can't wait!

Well, I should be doing Art History, or continue studying for the AP Chem. So i'm going to end this post here. Sorry for the lack of pictures! I hope everyone has a good week and a very nice Cinco de Mayo on tuesday!

I've Been Secant You For a While

Wow. I'm sorry it has taken so long to post. For the past few weeks, homework, and drum major have been on my schedule. And in the event in which I don't have to do anything for either of those, I'm usually caught napping. =D

So lets see....before spring break is about where I left off. I'll try to cover some big, or interesting(At least to Me) events that has happened.
Solo/Ensemble Festival 2009 --- It was really awesome. I wish I could have seen more performances, but I helped the whole day as a runner/bouncer. Good experience, but I think I prefer to be the performer in that case....Congrats to everyone. You all did GREAT. =D

Spring Break was spent very well indeed. =] Over the course of a week, I went to see Knowing (I don't suggest seeing it. It's not great acting and it's just really depressing), hung out with my friends, rode bikes in Newport, and hung out with a really old friend who came to visit from Florida. It went by faster than I had really wanted it to, but it was nice to get back into the routine of school. (Except the HW) Here are some of the pics from the beach.

my mom and aunt being silly.
In case you can't read the flag it says,

"Wine a Bit. You'll Feel Better"

Julia and her Dad. =]

Julia, Me, and Pris

Look at the Sand Dunes! HAH

I got sand in my band-aid though. ='[

Priscila and I climbed out on those
rocks...it was actually really scary!

(But oh soooo pretty on the end.)

Feet picture! =]
Mine is the one with the blue toenails.
HAHA

So besides that, I can't really remember much. My mind is fuzzy. I think it's been taken over by memorizing Art History and Chemistry equations. School has been School, and I'm really ready for it to be over already. gosh! About a month left though...so I'm pretty excited.

Right now I should be studying for the AP Chem, or working on my routine for drum major (What with the tryouts being next wednesday and all...) but I need to blog. It's ridiculous.

So I thought I would add this pic to this post simply because I think it is cool. Maybe I'm immature because I like it, frankly I don't care. HAha, I made it at lunch a few weeks ago. I guess I can say its Aesthetically Pleasing. =D And there is something in me where I have a big urge to draw faces on fruit. (I can give credit to my tenoras for that)

We have a upcoming concert for QHHS. I'm kind of excited for it. Not too happy about some of the pieces we'll be playing, but I think it will be nice. (I hope) May 5th. Wooh, in honor of Cinco de Mayo, McQ will be having us play a 'Zacatecas March' I just hope it goes well.

I wish I was in Senora Rocca's spanish class. =[ Then I can make salsa on Cinco de Mayo again.

Band trip is coming up, and i'm getting rather afraid. Partly because i'll be farther than I have ever been from my family, partly because I don't remember what flying in an airplane was like ( Last time I did, I was 6), but mostly because my ears have horribly functioning Eustachian tubes which will not allow my ear to equalize pressure changes. I'm going in to the doctors on Monday, and possibly getting a procedure where they drill a hole in my ear to help the pressure. I'm not quite sure what it is all about exactly, but it should help with the pressure change during the plane flight. I hope all goes well. Mrs. LeBeau kinda freaked me out....

So math has gotten pretty cool I suppose. We're in sin, cos, tan, csc, sec, cot graph functions. At first I didn't like it, but I have changed my mind over the past few days. I hope you like the title of the post....If you want to be a nerd, use this little mathematical pick-up line. HAH, tell me if you do, and if actually works for you.

Well, i'm off to a busy weekend of drum major practice, family get-togethers, sweet 16s, and lots of AP Chem/Art History work. Oh joy. =]

Have a nice weekend everyone!

"When there is no place safe and no safe place to put my head..."

School is keeping me plenty busy! Thank goodness for Spring Break next week. Except, break doesn't exist in a lot of people's vocabulary anymore...so that means all the work we do at school is now to be done at home. =]

Happy Belated Pi day! I hope everyone enjoyed such a mathematical day and enjoyed a nice slice of Pie. I myself had celebrated both Friday and Saturday. (One in Coach Degnan's room and the other at Marie Callenders with a few friends) I had a good time, got fat, and was introduced to the TV Show How I Met Your Mother. That show is hilarious! Its recording on my DVR as I type.

CAHSEE is tomorrow. I'm so nervous. =/ Yeah right. I hear its way the heck easy. This senior in my Art History told me that I can get an hour of sleep, be on meth, have a mental disorder, and still pass the test. Hah. I'm not planning to try that...but I'm confident it's going to be a breeze.

I'm am now attending Drum Major lessons offered by Rachel and Brendan. I am trying out for next year, and there is always a chance I can make it, but being a junior next year won't help. (Besides, i'm still learning) It's a pretty cool experience. =]

I am an idiot. A big baby in fact. I learned a pretty valuable lesson the other day...look before you EVER open a car door in a parking lot. You can lose an arm...or a car door. Enough said.

Check out these 8 Brilliant Scientific Screw-Ups. A particular someone always reminded me not to screw up...but what if I turned out like these guys? Hah, just kidding.

Well, class registration was just a few weeks ago. I've decided to take the AP route. Not that I don't feel smart enough to take IB...I just can't take the amount of time you need to put in. I want to remember highschool as a good thing, not a time where I killed myself with work. I just can't arrange an IB diploma and still have a life. I know a few people who can, but not me. Anyways, these are the classes I'm taking next year.

  • AP Calculus AB (I'm extremely excited for this class!)
  • AP English 11
  • IB Chemistry SL
  • AP U.S. History (Not looking forward to this whatsoever)
  • Teacher's Assistant (For Coach Degnan)
  • Spanish 3

So yes. This is my schedule. I've thought about this and my senior year classes as well. I'm getting my all my credits just fine. I know being a TA isn't the best...but I could use a "study hall" period.

Renaissance art is so beautiful. (I've kept up with my cards finally)

Saturday was our "last" parade for the QHHS Band 08-09. (We have another for the Band Trip, but that only counts for some people) The Almond Blossom Festival is always a fun little thing I like to attend with my mom. After a few years of wanting it, we FINALLY signed up to take the Painting on Water Art Class. It looks so awesome. April 18th baybee! haha. I'm so excited.

I hope everyone has a great week! Hopefully it goes fast. =] Just remember,

"When everything is falling apart, there's no reason to fall with it."

You Never Know Just How the Story Ends...

Its the last day of February. =[ I'm not ready for March.

A lot has been going on from the last time I've posted...well, not really, but enough to have something to blog about. Lets start back at the sunday before last. (2/15)

On the 15th was a Sweet 16 for my good friend, Kellie. It was Rock N Roll themed, and I'm sure everyone had a GREAT time. I got crazy, but I didn't do anything I regret and I had sooooo much fun. =] Some of the coolest things I did was dance on bubble wrap. It's a good stress reliever. Haha

Adding to the fun that week, we had Monday off. I went with Priscila to see He's Just Not That Into You at the theatres, and well, it was an OK movie. Pretty cute, but it wasn't a favorite. I recommend you see it if you're into the whole chemistry between the average couple today. =P

For the third day in a row, I had another outing that was a lot of fun. On tuesday the 17th, the QHHS band went to Disneyland. I hung out with Kevin, Pris, and Kyle. We had a GREAT time, and were totally crazy on the rides. Screaming on every one, including Star Tours. (It is just so exhilarating!)This was a particular favorite of mine. Kyle's face cracks me up. (And his hand conveniently covers my face =])

Come Wednesday, the fun was over. I woke up, tried getting ready for school, but felt like I was dying. I begged my mom to let me stay home. (Shame on me because I missed the day before for Disneyland) After a long lecture from my mom, and a Doctors visit, I was diagnosed with Pneumonia, and was required to stay home the rest of the week. Not a very fun experience, coughing my lungs up and such. After that I had to look forward to lots of make-up work and getting the pneumonia out of my system. I must say though, looking at the X-Ray was rather fascinating to me. =]

After that whole experience, life returned to normal. Classwork resumed, and everything was what it was supposed to be.

Did you ever wonder just how a cell phone worked?
Indulge on the wonderful biochemical pathways Here.

Yesterday was the multicultural assembly, and as always, it was the best assembly of the year. Some personal favorites of mine were the Tinikling, the Irish Jig, and the Mexican dress dancing. The coordinators of the assembly did a fantastic job. I'm thinking I want to participate in that next year, but I need to find an act to do.
Great Job everyone.

Just another pic from Bianca's Quince that I found. =]

I hope everyone has a great weekend and a great month!

Everyone Died Back in Those Days...

I love DeGroff. She is just too awesome =D

Wow, it has been almost a month since I posted last! Crazy! Sorry about that...school work has kept me plenty busy.

As of yesterday, it has snowed a total of 3 times this winter. 3 times! First time was awesome, second time...not so much, it didn't even stick. And third time? I got to enjoy it by watching it from my living room window. I have no doubts for what this weather can do. One minute there is blue sky, next minute its hailing. =/

I noticed fellow bloggers are familiar with the game site, addictinggames.com. I have found one game that has dragged me in way to far.
Bubbles + Physics

For solo/ensemble festival I have only decided to do a solo(That's IF I get an accompianist) I plan to do the first movement of Stamitz's Concerto no. 3. We'll see how that goes....

I'm so excited for the next few days. Tomorrow is my good friends Sweet 16, monday we get the day off, and tuesday is the Band Trip to Disneyland! For some reason I'm way excited to go, eventhough we don't get to do the parade. It will be fun, and i'll make sure to take a lot of pictures!

Well, this is going to be a rather short post, seeing I don't have much to talk about. I hope everyone has a great weekend, and a very sweet Valentines Day. =]

I'm One of Those...

Well! First post of the Year 2009! I must say, i'm looking forward to starting a new, fresh year. Now that I realize it, I would have much rather gotten those finals done before break, but they went swell last week, so I guess it turned out right. Next week we start the second semester, and i'm ready! Thankfully, this year I won't be switching around some classes for the new semester like last year. I can't wait to get back into the routine of things....

This week back to school, I realized that I forgot what being tired felt like. I had so much sleep over break, it was an unusual feeling once I returned to school. Now, I better get used to it, because my teachers only guaranteed harder work and tougher material. I'm kind of afraid.

The English final was rather hectic the other day. We had to write our essays, (Mine being on the worst book ever, The Tortilla Curtain), pass out our extra credit food, and try to pay attention with all the upperclassmen fooling around the room and doing things that shouldn't be done on a couch at school....Anyways, it was fun, but not really, considering I don't like the subject English. It was interesting to see people bring in their food for the E.C. and figure out how it pertains to the books we read. A particular favorite of mine was a cake of a book burning(From Fahrenheit 451). =] I just liked the decorating, haha.

About two weeks ago, my Mom found a Shih Tzu on Rancho Vista Blvd. Of course, being the dog lover she is, she stopped for him since he was frightened out of his wits on the road. As soon as she opened her door, he jumped in and made himself right at home. It wasn't what we needed at the moment, but we took care of him. One day he did escape from us but came back a half hour later. We posted FOUND posters all along RV Blvd. and only until yesterday did we receive a phone call of the REAL owner. It was almost looking like the dog was going to be ours, but I'm very glad we got the owner.

Well, I didn't make District Honor Band, and I have only myself to blame. I wasn't angry at ANYONE, only embarassed with myself. I guess the accumulation of failure got the best of me that day, but my true friends were there, and really helped me through the day. "A word of encouragement during a failure is worth more than an hour of praise after success." Congrats to everyone who made it, and THANK YOU to all that had a kind word of advice.

I went to my very first school basketball game Friday night. Priscila and I were fortunate enough to visit our friends and enjoy the upbeat game. We watched the Junior Varsity and Varsity girls play, and QH had won both of them against Eastside. I had a lot of fun, and it was a cool experience.

Well, I'm ready to enjoy Martin Luther King Jr. Day tomorrow and the presidential inaguration on tuesday. I hope everyone has a great week, and stays safe.
